Property Catastrophe
Property catastrophe reinsurance is one of the core Tokio Millennium Re products. We have developed and maintained relationships with many of the world’s leading insurance companies, providing non-Japanese property catastrophe excess of loss coverage in countries around the globe.
Our approach to the class is based on extensive investment in research and the establishment of class leading dedicated resources. This has allowed us to develop in house models which are complemented by third party vendor tools.
We bring the greatest value to bear in those territories where we believe the data to be more reliable and catastrophe modelling more robust. Our analysts and underwriters carefully scrutinise all data using highly quantitative techniques to ensure that risk is properly evaluated and assessed.
Our appetite extends to aggregate and back up covers falling within our clients’ normal catastrophe retentions where there is the best quality of data available.

Property Per Risk
We offer property per risk reinsurance cover by way of both proportional and per risk excess of loss treaty capacity.
Our focus is on portfolios of non-aggregating risks with event limitations. Transparency is key to our underwriting approach and we have a preference for those portfolios supported by detailed data including original exposure profiles, original rate movements and claims.
