Dieter van den Boom

Senior Vice President, Underwriting

Dieter joined Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. Zürich Branch in September 2011, as Senior Underwriter responsible for underwriting and client management in the German speaking countries and central and eastern Europe.

Dieter has over 35 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. He began his career with Victoria Versicherung AG as an apprentice. He continued with French insurer Abeille Assurance as Assistant of the General Manager before transitioning into reinsurance as an underwriter for German property and casualty business at Victoria Rückversicherung AG. Dieter joined HartRe as Underwriting Officer in 1999 and advanced to General Manager of the German branch with responsibility for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

In 2002, he joined Guy Carpenter Munich as Senior Vice President. In 2004, Dieter became a member of the management team of Benfield Munich and was responsible for the development of German business. Before joining Tokio Millennium Re, Dieter served as an Independent Professional for insurance and reinsurance specialising in risk management issues such as Solvency II and Swiss Solvency Test.

Dieter holds a masters degree in business administration from University of Cologne and a Specialist Risk Management Insurance degree from the German Insurance Academy, Berlin.
