Strategic Underwriting Officer

Peter joined Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. in 2005, as Vice President to establish the company’s specialty reinsurance practice.  In 2007, he became Senior Vice President responsible for specialty reinsurance.  In 2011, Peter was promoted to Strategic Underwriting Officer.  He is responsible for the development of new business lines for the US treaty market and for the coordination of underwriting strategies for the company’s international activities in London, Sydney and Zürich.

Peter has over 27 years of insurance and reinsurance experience.  He began his career with Crum & Foster as a casualty underwriter.  He later joined Gerling Group as Assistant Vice President with responsibility for global programme business. In 1993, Peter joined XL Group in Bermuda as Vice President for excess casualty and property and then was transferred to XL Europe in Dublin to develop their German, Swiss & Austrian portfolio. In 1996, Peter founded and managed XL Europe’s property book.  In 1998, he joined GenRe Dublin as Underwriting Manager of structured reinsurance for Europe and later assumed responsibility for US structured reinsurance activities.
