Kiichiro (Ken) Hatakeyama

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer

Kiichiro (Ken) Hatakeyama is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. He joined Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire in 1991 and transferred to his current position in July 2010.

During his 14 years at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire, Ken was in charge of commercial lines business for Japanese clients. In 2007, he was transferred to the International Business Development Department of Tokio Marine Holdings where he was responsible for planning Tokio Marine Group’s global reinsurance strategy and overseeing reinsurance subsidiaries of the Group. He also played a major role in implementing the post merger governance structure for Kiln, one of the largest Lloyd’s insurance groups that joined Tokio Marine Group in 2008.

Ken received a Bachelor of Science in geology from University of Tokyo, Japan in 1991 and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management in 2004.
