Shin-ichiro Okada is a senior executive officer of Tokio Marine Holdings and former President and Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Millennium Re Ltd.

Okada joined Tokio Marine in April 1973. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of reinsurance and portfolio management in the Tokio Marine Group. As Manager of Outward Reinsurance he chaired and managed many market reinsurance pools. He was a pioneer in the area of obtaining Japanese earthquake reinsurance capacity through the capital markets, leading to the issuance of the first Japanese catastrophe bond in 1997. In March 2000, he relocated to Bermuda to establish Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. After four very successful years at the helm of Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. he relocated back to Tokyo to assume the role of Senior General Manager in charge of the Commercial Risks Department of Tokio Marine.

Okada graduated from Hitotsubashi University of Japan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
