Kazuya Kojima

Kazuya Kojima is a General Manager of the International Business Development Department of Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc., the principal holding company of the Tokio Marine Group.

Kojima joined Tokio Marine in 1982 and has spent nearly 20 years in the Commercial Lines Underwriting Department involved in outward reinsurance planning and portfolio optimisation of Tokio Marine’s non-marine business in Japan.

Kojima introduced the concept of portfolio optimisation by establishing retention and reinsurance strategies for the Group, and has been leading the ERM project for the Group's entire international insurance business.

In 2006, he led the team which issued the first catastrophe bond for typhoon risks in the Japanese market.

Kojima received a Bachelor of Arts degree in German literature from the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
